Josh has assisted clients with their transactional matters since his very first day of law school. He has always been fascinated by the interplay between the areas of finance and law. Josh brings this fascination to work with him every day. The latest reward is sharing his practice with his wife, Amy (who’s been known to bring a new perspective to a deal a time or two).

Joel is an associate at Hankins Law, where he focuses his practice on commercial finance, real estate, business law, transactions, civil litigation, and estate planning. Prior to joining the Firm, Joel’s background was predominately in consumer bankruptcy, asset protection, and debt relief assistance. Joel’s background and experience gives the Firm a unique perspective and advantage when representing the Firm’s clients. As a native Louisianan, Joel is a fan of the LSU Tigers and the New Orleans Saints. Upon relocating to Middle Tennessee, Joel and Maggie have become avid Nashville Predators fans. In his spare time, Joel can be found reading, fly-fishing, hiking, and traveling — in particular to Santa Fe and the American West.

Personal

With over a decade of experience primarily in the area of commercial real estate, Amy assists with all aspects of the Firm’s real estate and commercial finance practices. Amy graduated from the University of Kentucky, with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree with a concentration in Marketing. Upon moving to Nashville, she continued her education and obtained her paralegal certificate from Southeastern Paralegal Institute. 

Prior to joining her husband at the Firm, Amy worked in Cracker Barrel’s legal department, handling all aspects of their real estate transactions throughout the United States. While at Chaffin & Burnsed, Amy worked with numerous lenders and real estate agents in their commercial transactions. She brings a tremendous amount of knowledge and experience to our Firm.

A native of Kentucky, Amy is an avid Kentucky Wildcat fan, especially Kentucky basketball, and enjoys reading, traveling and spending time with Josh and their two boys, Ethan and Ben. They are proud members of First Baptist Church Hendersonville, where they serve in the Preschool Ministry.
